Lettuce Eat Changes Its Name to Wild Beet Salad Company Second Location
Opening Late Summer in East Memphis

Memphis, TN (June 21, 2016) - Fresh chopped salad and wrap restaurant Lettuce Eat is not only opening a new location in East Memphis soon, the popular Germantown eatery and catering business also has a new name - Wild Beet Salad Company.

Owner Kelcie Hamm made the decision to change the name of her thriving healthy lifestyle restaurant from Lettuce Eat to Wild Beet Salad Company after she found out the Chicago-based Lettuce Entertain You has the rights to use the word lettuce as a verb.

While Hamm was disappointed in having to change the name of her now two year-old business, which opened in April 2014, she’s making the most of her restaurant’s new name, Wild Beet Salad Company.

She recently started using organic free-range chicken in her salads and wraps for the same price and she’s introducing a new beet salsa to her customers soon. When Wild Beet Salad Company’s new website is completed, customers will be able to order their lunches and dinners online.

Wild Beet Salad Company’s second location at 4715 Poplar Avenue in East Memphis at Knickerbocker Plaza opens late summer.

Wild Beet Salad Company, formerly known as Lettuce Eat, is currently located at 6641 Poplar in the Carrefour at Kirby Woods Shopping Center. Kelcie Hamm decided to open her fresh salad restaurant in Memphis a few years after returning home from fashion merchandising school in Manhattan, New York, where she ate a chopped salad for lunch nearly every day. While earning her degree in fashion business administration at LIM College, Hamm interned at Self Magazine, and she worked at Church Health Center for two years before leaving to fulfill her dream of owning her own business.

Memphis Fashion Week Makes a Big Impact on Economy
Fifth Year of Fashion Week Most Profitable Year Yet

Memphis, TN (April 18, 2016) - The fashion frenzy that swept through Memphis last week is proving to be more popular - and profitable than ever. Memphis Fashion Week capped off the 5th annual week long-event last Saturday, April 9th at Memphis College of Art with collections by participants in The Emerging Memphis Designer Project.

University of Memphis’ Zoe Vu walked away with a scholarship for Memphis College of Art Continuing Education classes after winning the Emerging Designer Singles Collection showcase. Designer Mary Ambrose was the winner of the Mini Collection showcase and she also received the scholarship to MCA.

All of the Emerging Designers, as well as the Featured designers who had their show Friday, April 8th at The Cadre Building, presented their creations with professional models, hair, and makeup. To make these shows happen, Memphis Fashion Week hired 47 models, 20 backstage crew members/stylists, and supported 21 local and national designers.

These 88 job hires coupled with runway show production fees meant Memphis Fashion Week pumped $20,000 in the Memphis community just last week.

This was paid for with the $65,000 raised through ticket sales and event sponsorships.

$36,000 goes directly to the Memphis Fashion Fund.
50 businesses in total participated in 2016’s Memphis Fashion Week.

Abby Phillips founded MFW in 2011 as a way to bring together the Mid-South fashion community. In addition to starting the Memphis Fashion Fund, Phillips is also bringing a new incubator program for fashion designers to Memphis.

Memphis, TN (June 16, 2015)– Belly Acres is proud to announce its participation in The James Beard Foundation's (JBF) Better Burger Project™, a nationwide contest and challenge to make a "better burger" by blending ground meat with finely chopped, cultivated mushrooms to create a delicious, healthier, and more sustainable burger.

Since the goal is to put Memphis on the map and get Belly Acres' Chef Rob Ray to the famous James Beard House in New York City to cook with four other esteemed chefs, we have named our new burger "Mushroom State of Mind."

Accompanied by a mix of pickled Mississippi summer squash, fire-roasted red pepper, Tennessee Bibb lettuce, and a delectable ginger lime aioli, this Tennessee button mushroom and 100% grass-fed beef burger is not only off the charts with flavor, it is much better for you.

Blending meat with mushrooms reduces calories, fat, and sodium while adding important nutrients like vitamin D, potassium, and B vitamins. A blended burger also brings more sustainable, plant-based items to menus, allowing Americans to enjoy the taste and flavor of the burgers they love, knowing it is a healthier and more sustainable preparation.

America will vote for its favorites through an Instagram-based social media challenge. The five chefs with the most photo uploads on Instagram by consumers by July 31st, 2015 will win a trip to New York City in October 2015 to cook their "better burger" dish at the James Beard House.

About the James Beard Foundation (JBF)
Founded in 1986, the James Beard Foundation celebrates, nurtures, and honors America's diverse culinary heritage through programs that educate and inspire. A cookbook author and teacher with an encyclopedic knowledge about food, James Beard, who died in 1985, was a champion of American cuisine. He helped educate and mentor generations of professional chefs and food enthusiasts, instilling in them the value of wholesome, healthful, and delicious food. Today JBF continues in the same spirit by administering a number of diverse programs that include educational initiatives, food industry awards, scholarships for culinary students, publications, chef advocacy training, and thought-leader convening. The Foundation also maintains the historic James Beard House in New York City's Greenwich Village as a "performance space" for visiting chefs. In September of 2012, JBF launched the Diplomatic Culinary Partnership with the U.S. Department of State's Office of Protocol and helped create the American Chef Corps as a way to champion American chefs abroad, promote American food products, and foster an interest in American culinary culture and history through international programs and initiatives. One such project is Expo Milano 2015, a global gathering of 147 countries addressing the challenges of how we will feed ourselves in the future. At Expo, the James Beard Foundation has co-led the effort for the State Department to design and produce the USA Pavilion; the theme of the pavilion, "American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet," showcases America's contributions to global food security and gastronomy. Katie Kalsi Handbag Expanding Throughout America
Wearable Art with 2 Interchangeable Straps Keeps Your Look Fresh

Memphis, TN (February 10, 2015) – Handbag Designer Katie Kalsi knows what women want – to be able to express their individuality in creative ways. Each luxurious leather purses comes with two interchangeable hand-painted straps, chosen by the buyer. When a Katie Kalsi handbag owner changes her strap, she changes the entire look of her bag.

Katie Kalsi, LLC is expanding rapidly. Sales of its handbags were up 25% in 2014 compared to 2013. The designer line also introduced its new wallets and tablet covers into the marketplace late last year.

Currently, Kalsi’s products are sold on KatieKalsi.com and in thirty-five stores across the Southeast, and Kalsi wants to grow that number this year. She is now looking for high-end retailers to grow their business with KatieKalsi, LLC.

Boutique owners find it easy to sell Katie Kalsi because of the luxurious leather bags and the two unique straps that come with each purse. Kalsi offers straps to suit every personality and style, from skulls, to fireflies, to a church with a bible verse.

Kalsi came up with the idea of this ‘wearable art’ after realizing she wanted to take paintings off the canvas. Because art typically is hung on the walls of galleries and one’s home, not many people get to enjoy it. Kalsi’s art is painted on her unique straps, allowing Katie Kalsi handbag owners to show off the art of their choice when they carry their purses.

About Katie Kalsi, LLC
Katie, who has been painting since a child, debuted her popular handbag collection in 2007 and never looked back. She is well-known in the Memphis community for her charitable contributions, using her talents to bring awareness to issues such as Down’s Syndrome and childhood cancer with the creation of specialty straps.

For a limited time, Sarah Stramel is now offering Introductory NEW CLIENT DISCOUNTS on social media starter packages and custom designed websites.

Producing an independent film is a daunting task. Considering how much outreach and crowd/community involvement is key to the success of any independent film these days it was an amazing experience to be able to rely on Sarah Stramel for spearheading these efforts for us.

Beyond simply being a pleasure to work with, Sarah was fully committed and forward thinking beyond our expectations. From getting the word out about our casting efforts (we easily saw 30% more than our most ambitious hopes were) to driving social media from preproduction onwards when we were busy concerning ourselves with the day to day business of making the film, we felt like there was a whole department on this for us which provided great peace of mind.
